Another excellent piece. I wonder how it got past me? I enjoyed it and plan to read it again tomorrow during coffee time

After reading this again, and gazing at the photos, I started imagining living there. I went as far to research it a little and once I learned about the state income tax it became a "nope." Lol. A beautiful place! I could easily meditate there

I just read your piece that included Lombard Street and the Sutro tower (back in December 2022). It had gotten buried in my inbox and unearthed because I am approaching zero inbox. I would have visited these places if I had read it earlier when I was in San Francisco at Thanksgiving. Instead, I took a ferry to Angel Island and climbed to the top. Not sure which would have been the more difficult climb. Just walking to the CVS in San Francisco might require a walking stick.

A new television tower was built in 1973 with 3.5 million pounds of steel, anchored by 15 million pounds of cement. After finishing the new construction, it was discovered that the tower would "sing like a harp" in the wind. This was not acceptable - so they did some adjustments to the electrical cables and eliminated the problem.

The Soda Dam, in Jemez Springs, took 7,000 years to emerge from the water. It is said by some to hold Spanish treasure inside the rock. I searched for the treasure, but found nothing. Of course the truest treasure is revealed when one sits by the rushing water, and realizes that verbal communication is impossible due to the white, pink, and brown noise emerging from the ancient rocks and waters. A deep state of "reflection" is inevitable....
